Police Report: Jan. 11-18

BOGO is a No Go

At 9 a.m. on Jan. 12, a resident of the 4600 block of Westside Drive reported the theft of an air conditioning unit in August, when someone agreed to buy two units, but only paid for one. The swindler picked up the units from the home of the owner, paid $300 for the first unit, and said he needed to go to the ATM to retrieve the rest of the money. He did not return.

HIGHLAND PARK

12 TUESDAY
At 9:30 a.m., a silver 2011 Lexus struck a Highland Park police vehicle at Highland Park Village.

Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 9 and 8 a.m. on Jan. 11, a thief entered a black 2007 Chevy Tahoe in the 4600 block of Beverly Drive and stole the third-row seat.

15 FRIDAY
Between 5 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 7:30 a.m. on Jan. 15, burglar broke into a white 2009 Cadillac Escalade SUV in the 5000 block of Abbott Avenue and stole the third-row seat.

At 12:35 a.m., Darian Driscoll, 29, of Dallas was arrested in the 4100 block of Mockingbird Lane on the charges of running a red light, possession of a controlled substance, and unlicensed possession of a firearm.

17 SUNDAY
Between 7 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 10 a.m. on Jan. 17, a thief stole a Rock Hopper mountain bike and a Nishiki Pueblo mountain bike from a home in the 4500 block of Beverly Drive.

Between 11 p.m. on Jan. 8 and 8 p.m. on Jan. 17, a burglar stole a white 2007 Ford F350, valued at $30,000, from the 4800 block of Byron Avenue. The truck bed contained a toolbox with $3,000 in assorted tools.

18 MONDAY
Between 7 p.m. on Jan. 17 and 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 18, a burglar broke into a beige Cadillac Escalade SUV in the 3100 block of Drexel Drive and stole the third-row seat.

UNIVERSITY PARK

11 MONDAY
Between 10 p.m. on Jan. 10 and 8:15 a.m. on Jan. 11, a burglar broke into a black 2009 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV from the 3100 block of Greenbrier Drive and stole the third-row seat.

Between 10:40 a.m. and 2:50 p.m., a scoundrel broke into a tan 2010 Cadillac Escalade SUV in the 4400 block of McFarlin Boulevard and took the third-row seat.

At 3:15 p.m., a thief stole a $400 Trek bicycle from Highland Park Middle School.

12 TUESDAY
Between 7:30 a.m. and 3:15 p.m., a thief stole a $500 Trek 3500 boys bicycle from Highland Park Middle School.

At 9:21 p.m., the owner of a $850 Puch Magnum Moped reported it having been stolen from Snider Plaza on Jan. 3.

13 WEDNESDAY
Between 5 and 5:37 p.m., a thief stole a $1,500 Prada purse from a bench at Coffee Park. The purse contained $60 in cash, $250 BMW keys, and a $600 Gucci wallet.

Between 9 and 10 p.m., a thief attempted to steal the third-row seat from a silver 2009 GMC Yukon SUV in the 4200 block of Hanover Street.

14 THURSDAY
Between 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 14, a burglar broke into a red 2012 Cadillac Escalade SUV in the 3500 block of Asbury Avenue and stole the third-row seat, and a $300 case of champagne.

Between 4:45 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 2 p.m. on Jan. 14, a burglar broke into a black 2010 GMC Yukon SUV in the 4400 block of Bryn Mawr Drive and stole the third-row seat.

Between 10 p.m. on Jan. 13 and noon on Jan. 14, a thief stole a $100 Mongoose girls bicycle and a $100 Next boys bicycle from a porch in the 3400 block of Binkley Avenue.

Between 6 p.m. on Jan. 13 and 4 p.m. on Jan. 14, a thief stole a $130 Abus Bordo bike lock and a $580 Trek mountain bike from an apartment in the 3400 block of McFarlin Boulevard.

15 FRIDAY
Between 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 14 and 11 a.m. on Jan. 15, a burglar broke into a white 2014 Cadillac Escalade in the 2900 block of Fondren Drive and stole the third-row seat.

Between midnight and 7:01 p.m., a burglar broke into a black 2016 Cadillac Escalade SUV in the 2900 block of Dyer Street and took the third-row seat.

17 SUNDAY
Between 8 a.m. on Jan. 14 and 9 a.m. on Jan. 17, a thief stole a $800 iPad 2 Air from a house in the 3200 block of Bryn Mawr Drive. Construction workers were present during that time frame.
