Dallas Confirms West Nile Case in HP

According to Highland Park, Dallas County Health and Human Services (DCHHS)  “has confirmed a positive human case for West Nile Fever for a resident that lives in the Town of Highland Park.”

Spraying started yesterday, and will continue through Friday, July 22. Ground spraying will be performed at public rights-of-way only, taking place between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m.

So if you haven’t taken the appropriate precautionary steps, maybe now is the time to do so. Remember the four D’s people:

  • Drain standing water
  • Mosquitoes are most active at Dawn and Dusk
  • Dress appropriately in long sleeves and pants when you can (we don’t want people passing out from the heat)
  • Defend yourself with repellent

If you see standing water, you are asked to report it to the town online or at 214-521-4161. Information from DCHHS can be found online, or you can call 214-819-2100.
