Cade Fennegan threw for 285 yards and five touchdowns to lead Woodrow Wilson to a 55-0 win over Hillcrest on Friday in a nondistrict game at Franklin Stadium.

Seven different players scored for the Wildcats, beginning with Darrion Green’s 47-yard touchdown run on their opening drive. Woodrow Wilson (3-1) scored on each of its five possessions in the first quarter to build a 34-0 advantage.

“We knew Fennegan was a good quarterback, but they are a very well-rounded football team,” said Hillcrest head coach Andy Todd. “Early in the game we just could not stop them, and the turnovers certainly didn’t help.”

At the start of second quarter, Hillcrest (2-2) was driving before turning the ball over at around midfield.  It was the Panthers’ third turnover of the first half.

The Wildcats capitalized quickly. Fennegan and Green connected on a 27-yard touchdown pass to take a 41-0 lead with 9:46 left to go in the first half. Green, a senior running back, finished with 181 yards of total offense and two touchdowns.

Woodrow Wilson went up 48-0 when Fennegan, who threw touchdown passes to five different Wildcat receivers, found Justin Cain in the end zone from 31 yards out.

“At halftime, we talked about not giving up,” Todd said. “And the other thing was, despite the lopsided score, are we going to get better from this game. And we will see real quick, as a very good South Oak Cliff team is coming here next Friday.”

Trevon Dawson, a junior running back, led all Hillcrest rushers with 37 yards on 12 carries. Eddie Lwate completed seven passes for 47 yards and also ran for 14 yards.
