Former St. Mark’s standout Ty Montgomery will return to his hometown to play the biggest game of his NFL career on Sunday — against the team he supported growing up.
Montgomery, 23, has emerged this season as a valuable receiver and running back for the Green Bay Packers, and is expected to play a key role in this weekend’s NFC Divisional Round playoff game against the Dallas Cowboys in Arlington.
The former four-sport star in high school has shown similar versatility since making his debut with the Packers in 2015. His breakout game was on Oct. 16, during a 30-16 loss to the Cowboys in Green Bay, when he caught 10 passes for 98 yards.

Montgomery, who graduated from St. Mark’s in 2011 and subsequently played four seasons at Stanford, has been the primary ball carrier during Green Bay’s current seven-game winning streak. He rushed for a career-high 162 yards and two touchdowns against Chicago on Dec. 18. And for the season, he has 457 rushing yards, 348 receiving yards, and five scores.
