SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: BAD FENG SHUI

An old wives’ tale that “a purse on the floor is money out the door” rang true for a patron eating dinner Monday at a restaurant at Preston Forest Square in the 11900 block of Preston Road. Sometime between 6 and 9 p.m., a thief grabbed a wallet from a bag left on the ground. 

20 Monday

Sometime between 11:30 and 11:42 a.m., property was stolen from two unlocked vehicles in the 5800 block of Park Lane.

21 Tuesday

A vehicle was stolen around 2:30 p.m. from outside of a shopping strip near Starbucks in the 8400 block of Preston Road.

22 Wednesday

Stolen between 5:30 and 6 a.m.: seats from a vehicle parked at a CVS pharmacy in the 5300 block of Lovers Lane.

Between 2:10 and 2:15 a.m., a vehicle with the keys left inside was stolen from outside a home in the 11100 block of Russwood Circle.

23 Thursday

Stolen between 6:30 and 9:30 a.m.: property from the bed of a truck parked at a home in the 6300 block of Park Lane.

Arrested: A 31-year-old man for possession of a controlled substance just before 7 a.m. in the 6000 block of LBJ Freeway.

Stolen overnight before 7 a.m.: property from a locked vehicle in the 5400 block of Springmeadow Drive.

25 Saturday

Stolen between 3:30 and 3:40 p.m.: Money from a wallet at the Fifth Church of Christ, Science in the 5600 block of West Northwest Highway.

Arrested: A 28-year-old woman for driving while intoxicated around 2:59 a.m. in the 6800 block of West Northwest Highway.

Between 2 a.m. and noon, a vehicle was damaged outside a residence in the 7700 block of Greenway Boulevard.

A vehicle was stolen between 4 and 9 p.m.from the Summertree shopping center in the 12300 block of Preston Road.

Stolen between 5 p.m. Friday and 6:30 p.m. Saturday: property from a vehicle parked at the Congregation Ohr HaTorah in the 6300 block of Churchill Way.

26 Sunday

Sometime overnight before 3 a.m. Monday, Christmas decorations were stolen from a yard in the 4600 block of Stanford Avenue

Arrested: An 18-year-old man around 2:40 a.m. in the 4200 block of Cochran Chapel Road for unlawfully carrying a weapon, driving while intoxicated, and possession of marijuana.
