Walgreens Gives Large Donation to Diabetes Research

Walgreens Employees and JDRF Youth Ambassador, Elizabeth Walsh.

The Dallas chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) recently received a check for $16,000 from Walgreens to aid efforts in the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The check presentation was held Jan. 29 at the Northwest Highway Walgreens location in Dallas and featured one of JDRF’s youth ambassadors, Elizabeth Walsh.

JDRF is the leading global organization for type 1 diabetes research.

Walgreens stores held a two-week campaign in November to recognize National Diabetes Awareness Month. They raised $16,000, which they donated directly to JDRF Greater Dallas.

Walgreens has collectively raised more than $30 million since 1992 to help JDRF on a national level.
