After rain washed out opening weekend for many high school baseball teams around the state, the Jesuit Dallas Baseball Classic will provide an early test for a handful of top teams in the area.

The three-day round-robin tournament begins on Thursday, with games slated for Wright Field on the Jesuit campus, as well as at Rockwall and Plano East. Each team will play five or six games.

Besides the Rangers, the field includes Forney, Plano West, Bishop Lynch, Rockwall, Plano East, Lovejoy, Sherman, and Xavier College Prep from Palm Desert, California. A complete schedule can be found here.

Jesuit will host Forney (2 p.m. Thursday), Plano West (7 p.m. Thursday), Xavier (2 p.m. Friday), Lovejoy (7 p.m. Friday), Sherman (11 a.m. Saturday), and Bishop Lynch (4 p.m. Saturday).

The Rangers (3-0) swept an impromptu three-game series at home against Lake Dallas over the weekend, highlighted by a walk-off home run by Maccoy Lopez in the season opener.

After the tournament, Jesuit will play an intrasquad scrimmage on March 5 at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
