Klyde Warren Park to Host Food and Wine Festival

Klyde Warren Park will host Dallas’ fourth annual premier food and wine festival, Park & Palate this October.

The two-day event, Oct. 26 and 27, will once again showcase the city’s nationally-recognized culinary scene, along with the finest wineries, breweries, and spirits while raising funds for the Dallas green space.

Over the course of the weekend, approximately 3,000 guests will gather at the park to visit among friends and colleagues at one of the most enjoyable events of the season. Nancy Perot and Rod Jones will serve as this year’s honorary chairs, with proceeds benefitting Klyde Warren Park’s 1,300 free programming and educational events throughout the year.

Celebrity chef Kent Rathbun will create a seated three-course dinner for top sponsors at a VIP event Oct. 26, and recruit a wide range of area chefs to provide all guests with unforgettable à la carte tastings under the stars.

The evening will culminate with samplings from the Klyde Park’s most popular food trucks and dancing to Dallas’s current “IT” band, the Jordan Kahn Orchestra.

At the main event, the city’s hottest chefs will offer bites paired with premier wines, spirits, and locally-brewed beers, while expert speakers, one-of-a-kind activities and the cool tunes of DJ S.O.U.L.JAH round out the day.

“We are so proud of the evolution of this event and how it has grown to showcase our city’s nationally recognized culinary scene while supporting this gem of a green space in downtown Dallas,” said Klyde Warren Park President Kit Sawers.

“With the help of our generous Park & Palate chairs, sponsors and talented chefs, we are excited to build on this event and raise funds to ensure we can continue providing educational and entertaining park programming to every socioeconomic group and generation in our community.”

Nancy Perot and Rod Jones will serve as the 2018 Park & Palate honorary chairs. The volunteer chairs for this year’s event are Lyn and John Muse, Carolyn and Rob Walters and John Zogg, all longtime champions of Klyde Warren Park.

Grand Taste tickets are $75 for general admission and can be purchased online at klydewarrenpark.org.
