SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: WHAT DID HE EXPECT?

What do you get when you leave your handgun in an unlocked car parked on a street with the word “crooked” in its name? A 39-year-old man got to make a police report at 12:12 p.m. April 12 after the theft in the 4600 block of Crooked Lane.

9 Tuesday

Reported at 2:10 a.m.: Broken glass was left after an attempted break in at Kindred Spirits on Inwood Road. 

Arrested at 2:56 a.m: a man accused of possession of drug paraphernalia and a controlled substance at the 12000 block of Preston Road.

Reported at 8:32 a.m.: A home in the 6700 block of Prestonshire Lane  was broken into and property stolen on April 8.

Reported at 11:48 a.m.: A window was broken on April 8 at Dallas Esthetics, PLLC  in Preston Center.

Arrested at  2:04 p.m.: a 19-year-old woman accused of shoplifting from Victoria’s Secret at NorthPark Center.

Reported at 10:34 p.m.: After a vehicle veered off the road in the 4000 block of Northwest Highway and damaged Oncor property, the driver fled on foot.

10 Wednesday

Property was reported stolen from Dillard’s at NorthPark Center at 10:21 a.m.

Reported at 10:44 a.m.: Property was stolen on April 8 from Victoria’s Secret at NorthPark Center.

Arrested at 5:39 p.m.: a 32-year-old man accused of using a fake ID at NorthPark Center.

Arrested at at 5:51 p.m.: a 22-year-old woman accused of stealing headphones from the Apple Store at NorthPark Center.

Reported at 6:50 p.m.: A Dallas woman’s property was stolen at Central Market at Midway Road and Northwest Highway. 

Arrested at 7:39 p.m.: a 43-year-old man accused of driving while intoxicated in the 4900 block of Walnut Hill. 

Reported at 8:32 p.m.: a Plano woman’s property was damaged outside a business at  Forest Lane and Inwood Road.

Reported at 9:18 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen from a home in the 6500 block of Park Lane. 

11 Thursday

Reported at 1:04 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen at Embassy Suites Dallas Love Field on Northwest Highway. 

Arrested at at 6:38 p.m.: a 19-year-old woman accused of shoplifting at Nordstrom at NorthPark Center

12 Friday

Reported at 6:53 a.m.: abandoned property in the 4800 block of Lovers Lane. 

Property was taken out of an Acosta Irrigation vehicle at 7:57 a.m. from the 9100 block of Valley Chapel Lane.

A 72-year-old man reported at 11:18 a.m. having a drink thrown on him at his home in the 5800 block of Grassmere Lane. 

Reported at 11:58 a.m.: A vehicle was stolen from the 6200 block of Woodland Drive. 

A resident of the 6100 block of Bandera Avenue complained at  4:32 p.m. about harassment on April 11 that continued on April 12.  

Reported at 5:13 p.m.: Property was stolen from a woman at a restaurant in the 3800 block of Northwest Highway. 

A resident of the the 6800 block of Bandera Avenue complained at 7:20 p.m. about receiving harassing phone calls.  

Arrested at 11:06 p.m.: a 43-year-old man accused of driving under the influence in the 11600 block of Inwood Road.

13 Saturday

Reported at 3:08 a.m.: Property was stolen from Howard Wang’s China Grill on Northwest Highway following a break in.

Reported at 4:19 p.m.: An attempted break in, and subsequent damage, occurred at Salio’s Bistro on Preston Road. 

Reported at 4:32 p.m.: A rental vehicle belonging to Hertz Vehicles at NorthPark Center had its window broken and property stolen.

14 Sunday

Reported at 10:44 a.m.: A home invasion with stolen property at the 3800 block of Northwest Highway. 

Reported at 3:29 p.m.: Property was stolen from the 6500 block of Stefani Drive on April 12.
