SKULDUGGERY OF THE WEEK: BOOK THIEF

There are no public libraries in the 5200 block of Caladium Drive, but that didn’t stop a prowler from entering one of the homes at 5:38 p.m. on April 22 and taking several books.

22 Monday

A known shoplifter was issued a criminal trespass warning at NorthPark Center at 6:28 p.m.

Reported at 7:34 p.m.: A vehicle was stolen from a home in the 5900 block of Meaders Lane.

Reported at 8:52 p.m.: A theft occurred at Ulta at Inwood Village.

23 Tuesday

What happens when you leave in the keys in the car? Reported at 11:29 a.m.: Such a vehicle the the 6600 block of Lupton Drive was stolen.

What happens when you leave the car unlocked. Reported at 12:04 p.m.: Property was taken from such a vehicle in the 5900 block of Forest Lane.

A credit card was used fraudulently at Nordstroms at NorthPark Center at 4:19 p.m.

A vehicle was stolen at 5:10 p.m. from the 4800 block of Bluffview Drive.  

Arrested at at 7:05 p.m: a 22-year-old man accused of shoplifting from Macy’s at NorthPark Center

Arrested at 8:09 p.m.: a 32-year-old man accused of stealing from Nordstroms at NorthPark Center

A 22-year-old woman and a 23-year old man were shot around 8:21 p.m. at the 6200 block of Lyndon B. Johnson Freeway.

24 Wednesday

Reported at 8:39 a.m.: A vehicle was stolen from a home in the 6200 block of Royal Crest Lane on April 23.

Reported at 1:35 p.m.: An unlocked vehicle, parked in the 11400 block of Lamplighter Lane, was rummaged through.

Reported at 4:16 p.m.: Three thieves stole property from Ulta at Preston Forest Shopping Center on April 23.

A vehicle was broken into and property stolen at 4:51 p.m. at NorthPark Center. 

25 Thursday

Sometime on Thursday, an Irving woman’s credit card was used fraudulently by a shopper at Preston Royal. 

Reported at 8:27 a.m.: Property was stolen on April 24 from a Pencil Point Construction home construction site  in the 12000 block of Arbargee Circle.

Reported at 10:10 a.m.: Future Telecom pipes were cut and stolen on April 23 in the 5300 block of Drane Drive.

26 Friday

Reported at 8:45 a.m.: A criminal trespass warning was given at Preston Forest Shopping Center on April 25.

Reported at 10:41 a.m.: On April 25, property was stolen from a room at The Plaza at Edgemere retirement community at Northwest Highway and Edgemere Road.

Reported at 11:55 a.m.: Property was stolen from a home in the 5500 block of Winston Circle.

Reported at 1:50 p.m.: Property was stolen on April 25 from a vehicle parked at apartments in the 8600 block of Preston Road.

Reported at 5:11 p.m.: A convertible parked at the 3900 block of Inwood Road was burglarized on April 25 by cutting the soft top to gain entry.

Reported at 6:10 p.m.: Property was stolen from Macy’s at NorthPark Center. 

Reported at 7:18 p.m.: Two watches were stolen at NorthPark Center. 

27 Saturday

Talk about getting decaffeinated: At 8:18 a.m., police issued a criminal trespass warning to an unwelcome person at Starbucks in Preston Forest Square.

Reported at 2:41 p.m.: Property was stolen from NorthPark Center. 

Arrested at 7:40 p.m.: a 35-year-old man accused of stealing from Buckle at NorthPark Center. 

Arrested at 8:53 p.m.: a 20-year-old woman accused of stealing Nordstroms at NorthPark Center. She also received a trespass warning.

28 Sunday

Sometime after midnight, a vehicle parked in the 8500 block of Lakemont Drive was broken into and the steering column was damaged.

Reported at 12:20 a.m.: A home in the 7000 block of Midbury Drive was broken into and property stolen on April 27.

Reported at 3:16 p.m.: Two thieves stole property from Ulta at Inwood Village.

Reported at 4:28 p.m.: A purse was stolen from inside a vehicle parked at Arveaux Interiors on Lovers Lane on April 26.

Reported at 6:40 p.m.: a home in the 6900 block of Royal Lane was burglarized.
