Crime Reports Oct. 14 – 20

The high was only 71 degrees on Oct. 16, the day thieves stole air conditioning units from a home in the 5600 block of Purdue Avenue. It was 88 degrees on Oct. 20, the day the property owner reported the theft at 8:05 p.m.

14 Monday
Halibut this caper: Before 8:21 a.m., a burglar broke into Lovers Seafood and Market near Lovers Lane and Inwood Road and stole unspecified property.

Police did not provide the reporting times for shoplifting at Ulta Beauty in Preston Forest Village nor for a theft at a home in the 7200 block of Royal Lane.

Broken before 1:21 p.m.: a window during the burglary of a 47-year-old Flower Mound woman’s vehicle at the Market at Preston Forest.

Arrested at 3:31 p.m.: a 27-year-old woman accused of shoplifting from Macy’s at NorthPark Center.

Before 4:41 p.m., a motorist proved both careless and irresponsible by fleeing after crashing into a light pole at Preston Road and Royal Lane.

Burglarized before 9:52 p.m.: a Sachse woman’s vehicle at NorthPark Center.

Before 9:26 p.m. at NorthPark Center, a vandal knocked out the window of a 75-year-old Duncanville woman’s locked vehicle.

Before 10:56 p.m., an unwelcomed guest entered a 39-year-old woman’s unlocked apartment in the 6100 block of Averill Way. The incident report doesn’t say what happened next.

15 Tuesday
Before 9:42 a.m., a burglar got into Smoothie King at Lovers Lane and Inwood Road and left with money from the safe.

The Monday theft of a 60-year-old woman’s wallet at the Tuesday Morning headquarters on LBJ Freeway wasn’t reported until Tuesday morning at 9:03 a.m.

16 Wednesday
A decaffeinated morning? At 5:33 a.m., a visitor to Starbucks in Preston Forest Square got a criminal trespassing warning.

Police did not provide the reporting time for a theft at a home in the 4600 block of Allencrest Lane.

Your pain, crook’s gain? Reported at 9:18 a.m., the burglary of a vehicle at the Cooper Fitness Center on Preston Road.

Burglarized before 11:41 a.m.; a Wylie man’s vehicle at a home in the 6500 block of Mimosa Lane.

Before 1:20 p.m., an opportunistic crook snatched an Oklahoma man’s stuff out of an unlocked vehicle at a home in the 6600 block of Aberdeen Avenue.

Reported at 3:40 p.m.: the burglar of a vehicle at a home in the 6100 block of Yorkshire Drive.

Reported at 5:02 p.m.: an unhappy young man in the 6500 block of Happy Lane. A burglar on Oct. 15 took property from the 23-year-old’s vehicle.

Before 10:42 p.m., an unknown box truck damaged the Walgreens at Northwest Highway and Lemmon Avenue.

17 Thursday
Robbed before 3:56 p.m.: Oakwood Bank at Preston Center.

Recovered at 4:41 p.m. at Jesuit College Preparatory School of Dallas on Inwood Road: a license plate stolen in Farmers Branch.

Before 6:43 p.m., a 19-year-old woman “felt embarrassed” by the behavior of another NorthPark Center visitor.

Dining at Preston Center proved costlier than expected for a 31-year-old woman when a thief managed to remove property from her before 8:11 p.m.

Burglarized before 10:57 p.m.: a vehicle at Preston Forest Village.

18 Friday
Police did not provide the reporting time for a theft at Lowe’s on Inwood Road.

Before 12:52 p.m., an ill-mannered bully threatened a 39-year-old woman from The Colony at Preston Oaks Shopping Center.

Before 7:30 p.m., a quick-fingered rogue pinched the wallet out of a 64-year-old woman’s purse at NorthPark Center.

Arrested at 8:10 p.m.: a 26-year-old woman accused of embezzlement from Macy’s at NorthPark Center.

19 Saturday
Police did not provide the reporting time for a theft at a store in Preston Forest Village.

Before 8:59 a.m., a thief took a vehicle from the 6600 block of Orchid Lane.

Reported at 2:17 p.m.: a beer run. The shoplifter fled the Texico at Preston Road and LBJ Freeway with two cases.

Stolen before 5:38 p.m.: a vehicle at NorthPark Center.

Taken before 5:46 p.m.: a 56-year-old man’s vehicle from a home in the 5500 block of Wateka Drive.

Reported at 9:56 p.m.: a theft from Macy’s at NorthPark Center.

20 Sunday
Stolen before 1:56 p.m., property from a home in the 12700 block of Montfort Drive.

At 3:37 p.m., Forney Police recovered a stolen vehicle in the 6000 block of LBJ Freeway.

Burglarized before 4:33 p.m.: a vehicle at a home in the 7100 block of Joyce Way.
