Spoiler alert: We’ll get to what many felt was the big genesis in a heated District 13 city council race between former mayor Laura Miller and incumbent city council member Jennifer Staubach Gates — PD-15 — in the coming days as we take a look back at some of the biggest stories and topics of 2019.
But the furious pitch of the race between the two started with a bang, had several loud detonations of ordnance, and then, well, ended in a near landslide for Gates, when many expected a runoff.
