Have You Noticed More Traffic on Royal Lane?

According to this report from WFAA, it’s been a “royal pain” to drive on Royal Lane since construction on LBJ Freeway ramped up recently. I’ve always despised 635, and even have a theory that the whole freeway is a mass psychological experiment on road rage. But Valley View Lane, not Royal, is my alternate route of choice.

What say you, Royal Lane residents? Are you noticing an uptick in traffic? Do you have a desire to put in speed humps a-la Crestline Avenue?

Rush-hour traffic is awful, three or four times what it used to be. Eastbound generally worse than west bound, mornings and evenings. A mix of folks trying to make up their highway speed on Royal with others, probably terrified, doing 28 MPH in a rolling roadblock. I’m shocked there aren’t more accidents. School zones at Winston and Dealey ignored by probably 5% of drivers, most of whom are also on their phones. No traffic enforcement (but I bet that changes after the News story).
